The Ligustrum Chinensis is a very strong species, evergreen with beautiful light green leaves.

Privets prefer a bright location with direct sunlight for at least part of the day. While most privet species should be kept outdoors and only require some protection from heavy frost, the Chinese privet (the tree you're looking at here) is brought indoors during the winter. Trees from (sub)tropical regions are accustomed to more or less constant annual temperatures. Unlike trees from our climate, they don't require a dormant period with a drop in temperature and leaf loss. This makes these species perfectly suited for indoor cultivation. In the summer, when temperatures are above 15 degrees Celsius, they can also be kept outdoors, for example on a patio. Generally, they will thrive outdoors in the summer due to the better climatic conditions (humidity, light, and fresh air). On hot days, privets need plenty of water and should be watered thoroughly as soon as the soil becomes dry. Water less in the winter, but ensure the root ball doesn't dry out completely.
