The Carmona, also called Fukien Tea, is related to the tea plant. Small, easy-growing white flowers enhance the charm of the glossy, dark leaves. The easy-care system includes a water buffer and a water level gauge. You fill the reservoir to the maximum, allowing the tree to consume the water through an intake channel. You refill the reservoir when the water level reaches the minimum and the reservoir is empty. This reduces watering to approximately once a week. The photo is representative of a small batch of bonsai; the actual specimen may vary slightly. This bonsai tree comes with a pot, and we also include detailed care instructions. This species is highly sought after for its beautiful, small, white, star-shaped flowers. The tree can bloom continuously for up to nine months, producing new flowers. The leaves are small, have a beautiful sheen, and the tree has a very compact growth habit. When the numerous flowers are pollinated, red berries develop. The species is known as a Tea family from the Fukien Province, hence its name: Fukien Tea. Trees from (sub)tropical regions are accustomed to more or less constant annual temperatures. Unlike trees from our climate, they don't require a dormant period with a drop in temperature and leaf shedding. This makes these species perfectly suited for indoor cultivation. In the summer, when temperatures exceed 15 degrees Celsius, they can also thrive outdoors, for example on a patio. Generally, they will thrive outdoors due to the better climatic conditions (humidity, light, and fresh air).
